Congratulations to Lt. Eric Hester from our Traini Congratulations to Lt. Eric Hester from our Training Bureau who graduated from the Florida Sheriffs Association Commanders Academy today along with 39 other members of Class 18!

The first Commanders Academy class was held in 2013, but the FSA team began working on the idea of an academy for leaders within Florida’s sheriffs’ offices for years leading up to the inaugural class. The core curriculum focuses on leadership, ethics, discipline, and additional subject matter areas related to upper-level leadership in law enforcement. The remaining curriculum is adjusted according to emerging trends and issues that have an impact on our sheriffs and recent high-profile events. Each topic is threaded with issues that are unique to the culture of the Office of Sheriff. Throughout the two-week course, the class hears from more than 50 presenters and panelists, many of whom are sheriffs. No other criminal justice program in the state provides this level of executive training.

Excellent work Lt. Hester!
Combined Communications Telecommunicator Adrienne Combined Communications Telecommunicator Adrienne Jones EOW: 04/22/2026

It is with a very heavy heart that we inform our community of the loss of one of our own. On April 22, 2026, our beloved Combined Communications Center Telecommunicator, Adrienne Jones, was found deceased at her home. Her passing was unexpected and has deeply impacted her family, friends, and colleagues.

Adrienne served the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office for seven years. She will be remembered as a kind and steady presence, whose voice on the radio was a lifeline to the deputies she served and supported each day.

Grief is never easy, but as a family, we will continue to surround one another with love and support as we honor Adrienne’s life, her service, and the lasting impact she made on our agency and community.
