Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor an Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to protecting Alachua County.

In their memory and in recognition for National Police Week, the Sheriff wanted to personally thank all the sworn personnel at our agency for their hard work, sacrifice, and commitment to serving our community. Take a moment to watch his full message that went out to our deputies. #policeweek #nationalpoliceweek #blueline #lawenforcement #gainesville
Some memories never leave you… and neither does th Some memories never leave you… and neither does the pride that comes with wearing the badge.

This 1991 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car was fully restored by @copcarsonline who has proudly displayed it for the last week in our nation's capitol.

Once driven right here at the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, vehicle 427 made its way to Washington, D.C. in honor of Police Week, carrying with it decades of stories, service, and sacrifice.

For Sheriff Scott, this car brings back memories of the early days in uniform, including watching one of his zone partners patrol in this exact vehicle. It also represents a time when many deputies received the same model brand new at the start of their careers, a milestone that marked the beginning of years dedicated to protecting our community.

Long before modern technology filled patrol cars, these cruisers carried deputies through long nights, difficult calls, and moments that shaped lifelong careers in law enforcement.

As we recognize Police Week, this Crown Victoria stands as more than a restored patrol car. It’s a tribute to the deputies who served before us, the memories shared along the way, and the commitment to service that continues today.

From Alachua County to Washington, D.C., a piece of our history is helping honor those who answered the call and those who continue to serve.
