A citizen wrote in after they went to check on their client at the Alachua County Jail. During their visit, the said they shared a positive interaction with Detention Deputy R. Smith. Here’s the message: β€œI went to the jail with the intent of conducting a quick client visit. Upon arriving at the Pod, all visitation rooms were occupied. Without hesitation, Deputy Smith immediately stopped what he was doing and personally escorted both myself and my client to a different visitation area. This act of assistance was entirely above and beyond what was required of him and reflected a genuine commitment to professionalism and service. Thank you Deputy Smith for your help!” WE SEE YOU, DETENTION DEPUTY SMITH!

For visitation at the Jail, that facility is located at 3333 NE 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32609.

Please note: our building lobbies are not staffed or equipped to handle emergencies 24 hours a day. If you need help right away, never hesitate to call 911.
