The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office proudly held i The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office proudly held its Oath of Office Ceremony yesterday, where deputies, detention officers, detention deputies, and newly promoted employees took the next step in their careers surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and command staff.

We are incredibly proud of each of you and grateful to have you as part of our ASO family. We look forward to continuing to support you throughout your journey in law enforcement and corrections! #swearingin #swearinginceremony #alachua #protectandserve #gainesville
Books, badges, and beach gear made for the perfect Books, badges, and beach gear made for the perfect combination during our “Readers on Duty” initiative!

Over the last month, members of our Community Relations Team, alongside School Resource Deputies and Deputy Cary Gallop, visited many elementary and middle schools throughout Alachua County, including Micanopy Area Charter School, to help students kick off summer safely while making reading fun and interactive.

Students participated in reading and comprehension activities, learned summer safety tips, and received snacks, safety books, and workbooks to take home and share with their families. There were also plenty of smiles as students had opportunities to win prizes for summer fun, including beach towels, snorkel sets, water floats, boogie boards, and beach toys.

A special THANK YOU to the Children’s Trust of Alachua County for providing the funding to help make this initiative possible!

We’re proud to share that this initiative reached more than 1,000 students, and we’re looking forward to reaching even more young readers in the future! #publicsafety #publicservice #communityfirst #communitystrong #futureleaders
