Media Advisory 2019-038: Silver Alert Issued for Missing Alachua Man

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert in reference to Mr. Bobbie Jean Vlacos.  Mr. Viacos was last seen in the High Springs area around 11:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 8th.    

Silver Alert - Bovvie Jean Vlacos

Mr. Vlacos is a 77-year-old white male, stands 5’09” tall, and weighs 100 pounds.  He has grey hair and blue eyes.  He was last seen wearing an unknown color shirt, blue jeans and brown loafer style shoes.  Mr. Viacos suffers from dementia.

Mr. Vlacos left his home in Alachua driving a 2008 gray/silver GMC pick-up bearing Florida tag: IF00FC.  His intended destination is unknown. If anyone has information on his whereabouts, please contact your local law enforcement agency or the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office at 352-955-1818.  Mr. Vlacos and his vehicle have been entered into the Florida and National Crime Information Databases as missing.

UPDATE – October 9, 2019 at 1:39pm: Mr. Vlacos has been located safely in Cedar Key and is being reunited with family.
