Many in our community witnessed yesterday’s pursui Many in our community witnessed yesterday’s pursuit of 21-year-old Derrick Burke, who attempted to escape from deputies after being arrested earlier in the day. Burke fled from law enforcement after deputies responded to a disturbance call in which he was reported to be armed with a gun.

We’ll let the video speak for itself and highlight the incredible work of our deputies, who ensured that both times Burke ran, he was quickly taken into custody.

We also want to thank our teammates at the @gainesvillepolice for their substantial assistance in locating Burke, as well as the citizens who called in when the sight of a man running in handcuffs understandably seemed a bit unusual. #protectandserve #aso #acso #gainesville #publicsafety #publicservice #lawenforcement #alachuacounty #florida #bodycam #bwc
