During the morning hours of Wednesday, February 18 During the morning hours of Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and @gainesvillepolice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ASO & GPD ICAC), with assistance from our SWAT team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 4300 block of SW 68th Terrace. The warrant was regarding the suspect, 33-year-old Aaron Eliot-Gaines, who is being investigated for a child exploitation case. It was determined by an ICAC Taskforce Detective that Eliot-Gaines participated in sexually explicit conversations with several minors, one as young as 11 years old.

Detectives made contact with Eliot-Gaines at his home, and he was detained. All of Eliot-Gaines’ electronic devices were seized, and a complete forensic analysis is still pending.

Eliot-Gaines was arrested and charged with one count of Production of Child Pornography, two counts of Possession of Child Pornography, two counts of Solicitation of Child Pornography, three counts of Harmful Communication to a Minor and eleven counts of Transmission of Harmful Material to Minors.

The investigation and arrest of Eliot-Gaines is an example of the strong collaboration and joint effort between both ASO and GPD. Together, we remain committed to protecting children, some of our most vulnerable citizens by ensuring that those who seek to exploit or harm them are identified, investigated, and held accountable.

We love when we receive messages from our community about the people who make a difference every day, and it’s no surprise that Deputy Sheriff Gallop is getting a shout-out. As our Crime Prevention Deputy, he’s a familiar face and a trusted resource for so many citizens.

Here is the message from a community member after DS Gallop did a home security inspection.

“Deputy Gallop performed a security inspection of my house. He was knowledgeable, professional, informative, and nice. He gave useful advice which I’ll use to help secure my home.”

WE SEE YOU DS GALLOP!
