Meet the three newest K9 teams now serving North C Meet the three newest K9 teams now serving North Central Florida!

Earlier today, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office hosted its longstanding K9 graduation ceremony for teams from ASO, Cross City, and Putnam County.

After completing more than 480 hours of rigorous training, these handlers and their four-legged partners are officially FDLE certified and ready to serve their communities.

We’re especially proud to congratulate our own K9 Deputy Alex Black and his partner, Captain, on this incredible accomplishment. Together, they will serve in patrol, helping detect illegal narcotics and assist in apprehending dangerous offenders who threaten public safety.

For years, our agency has played an important role in certifying K9 teams from across the state, hosting our very own K9 training school, and continuing a strong tradition of preparing handlers and their partners for the critical work ahead.

Congratulations to all of today’s graduates as they begin this important next chapter of service. #k9 #k9training #alachuacounty #k9handler #gainesville
In honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day and Nation In honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week are coming up, the Fraternal Order of Police Gator Lodge 67 invites our community to the 43rd Annual Law Enforcement Memorial on Thursday, May 7th, at 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.

This solemn evening brings us together alongside surviving family members, friends, and community supporters to reflect on the service and sacrifice of all law enforcement officers who have served Alachua County; especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This event is open to the public. We welcome everyone who would like to stand with us in remembrance and support. #memorial #lawenforcement #alachuacounty #fraternalorderofpolice #fop
