During the afternoon hours of Wednesday, March 25, 2026, DS S. Lawson responded to the area of the 5000 block of NE Waldo Rd regarding an armed disturbance, where the caller stated someone pulled a gun on them.

Once on scene, DS Lawson met with the victim, who stated they ordered takeout and their food was not delivered. They messaged the delivery person, later identified as 27-year-old Jaquez Keith, and told them to meet at a different “pinned” location. Keith arrived along with 26-year-old Calista Crenshaw in a gray Ford, and the three engaged in a verbal dispute. During the altercation, the victim pulls out their phone and starts recording the tense interaction. Crenshaw then pulls a black handgun and brandishes it at the victim while continuing to yell, which is clearly seen in the video by deputies. Keith then gets out of the car and walks off, and Crenshaw drives away. The victim then contacted law enforcement.

Law enforcement used real-time intelligence to locate the gray Ford in the area of the 15000 block of NW 150th Ct in Alachua. Deputies made contact with Crenshaw and Keith. The investigation revealed the gun involved in the incident was at a residence in Gainesville, about 30 minutes away. Both Crenshaw and Keith were arrested, and deputies were allowed to retrieve the gun from the Gainesville home.

Crenshaw was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Improper Exhibition of a Firearm. Keith was charged with Tampering with Evidence.
