School Incident Response - Buchholz High School M School Incident Response - Buchholz High School

Multiple Deputies are on scene at Buchholz High School due to an anonymous call reporting that a bomb had been placed inside of one of the buildings. 

Deputies have secured students and staff in a safe location, while conducting a methodical search of the school. 

This incident may be prolonged as we work to ensure that students, staff and first responders remain safe. 
We will provide updates when available.

Yesterday, Sheriff Chad Scott and our ACSO Leaders Yesterday, Sheriff Chad Scott and our ACSO Leadership Team proudly joined agencies from all over Alachua County for the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Florida.

Together, we carried the Flame of Hope to help raise awareness, promote inclusion, and support these incredible athletes who continue to inspire us all. 💙

For visitation at the Jail, that facility is located at 3333 NE 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32609.

Please note: our building lobbies are not staffed or equipped to handle emergencies 24 hours a day. If you need help right away, never hesitate to call 911.
