The Department of Justice recently announced the 2020 local allocation for the Edward
Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. The total allocation for
Alachua County and the City of Gainesville is $106,697, with $42,624 being allocated to
the County and $64,073 allocated to the City. The tentative plan for the use of these
funds is to purchase equipment for the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and the
Gainesville Police Department, additionally three percent of the funds are set-aside for
NIBRS (National Incident-Based Reporting System) training. If you would like to
